Hannah Awonuga is a great believer in giving everyone an opportunity to thrive in their careers.

Hannah is Global Head of Colleague Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion at Barclays. As of 2021, she has worked within her organisation for 14 years. Starting her banking career at the age of 16, she has developed her career internally holding her first leadership position at the age of 21. Her role involves having global strategic oversight of the diversity networks along with working with talent acquisition business partner to develop a diverse talent pipeline within the organisation. Outside of work she spends her time looking after her 3 kids and supporting young female BAME professional develop their careers. In this personal story Hannah shares her career journey and insights from her early career and shares tips on how employers can support those from diverse backgrounds into employment.
