Data & Strategy:
The heart of social mobility
Data is at the heart of any social mobility strategy as it helps understand where you are at as an organisation, informs plans and activities, and evaluates progress and change. Whilst there has been an increase in organisations collecting and publishing data on new and existing employees there are still many challenges to collecting and measuring data on socio-economic background. At this event we heard from businesses who shared their practical insights and experiences of data measurement through the lifecycle of a business, exploring how to collect both qualitative and quantitative data, tools and tips for increasing response rates, and insights into collecting data on retention and progression. This seminar featured:
- (Chair) Dan Robertson, Director, VERCIDA consulting
- Louise Watkins, Managing Director, BlackRock
- Jenny Baskerville, Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Social Equality, KPMG
- Terry Laville-Farrant UK People Director, Aon
- Paula Kemp Employer Engagement Lead, Social Mobility Commission
